Each year, the Cranbrook/ Fernie Chapter of CPF enters a French Immersion float in the Cranbrook Christmas parade. This year’s event took place on November 30 and was a great success, the kids loved waving from the float with Bonhomme walking and waving alongside! The French Immersion float helps to keep enthusiasm strong for the program and encourages young families who are watching the event to consider enrolling their kids in French Immersion. A small handout is passed out to families with very young children, which give a short summary of where French Immersion is offered in the area and where to go for more information. The float is more than just promoting the program. The decorating afternoon is a fun way for parents to meet and socialize outside of ‘meetings’ with hot chocolate and cookies. And the kids love to get a candy cane and ride on the float!
