CPF’s youth activities are truly the heart of our programming.

ArtStarts in schools is a unique not-for-profit organization offering educators, artists, parents and students a broad range of programs, services and resources to promote arts and creativity among BC’s young people.

Center for Leadership & Adventure in Nature (CLAN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the French language and culture through outdoor activities and serves French and Immersion students from around the province. Currently, you can browse their programs on the Conseil scolaire francophone’s website, but please note that the content is entirely in French. For bilingual service, contact CLAN at 604-485-8412.

Consulat General de France – Service Culturel aims to promote and develop educational and cultural exchanges between France and Canada.

Encounters With Canada is a one week leadership program held in Ottawa.

Escutech Educational Products Inc. is the company behind Verbathon.

Exchanges Canada is a Government of Canada initiative that helps Canadian youth connect with one another, experience the diversity of Canada’s communities, languages and cultures, and get involved in the future of the country.

Explore offers students bursaries for 5-week French Immersion Programs in the spring and summer time.

French for the Future is a not-for-profit organization that supports and motivates high school students on their path towards bilingualism.

Poetry in Voice is a national, bilingual poetry recitation contest for high school students in Canada. Poems recited can be in English, French, or both.

SEVEC is a national charity that offers exchanges, educational trips, and forums.

    Jeunes Artistes Launches! October 2015 - March 2016

    Canadian Parents for French BC & Yukon is launching JEUNES ARTISTES! It’s a new bilingual creative arts competition, which gives students the opportunity to demonstrate their bilingual language skills in an open, creative format. This project, built off of the success of the Concours dart oratoire, is a great opportunity to engage students in an event focused on creativity and French/English bilingualism. Top 10 winners in Grades 10-12 will be invited to showcase and perform at the Provincial event in Vancouver in March 2016.

    • October 2015 - March 2016
    • Provincial Finals for Grades 10 - 12: March 2016
    Categories Students will have the chance to showcase their bilingual skills in the following categories:
    • Singer/song writer
    • Spoken word poetry
    • Dramatic reading
    • Storytelling
    • Documentary film-making
    • Ghost writer (composed by a skilled writer, presented by a skilled presenter)
    Who can participate? CPF will focus engagement for this event on the upper grades in high-school for the provincial competition, however it is open to all grades and levels of French speakers:
    • K-12
    • Students in French Immersion, Core French, Intensive French and Francophone schools
    Provincial Finals
    • Grades 10 – 12 will compete and showcase at the Provincial level
    • K-9 in BC & Yukon - organized locally, at the school or regional level
    Resources In October, we will send teachers, educators, and community organizers resources to engage students in this project. Resources will include calendar guidelines, rules of the competition, category descriptions, teaching resources, and how to enter the competition and showcase in your region.
