How to become a CPF member
CPF has two membership categories, Family/Individual and Associate Member Organizations. Despite our name and our long-standing reputation as a recognized parent-driven advocacy body, you don’t have to be a parent to join our nationwide network of supporters; anyone can take part!
Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, teacher, student, or any other supporter of FSL education, you can take out a membership in CPF. Individual and family memberships grant up to two (2) voting adult members per household and can grant you access to all kinds of benefits and member-only resources! Children of your own are no requirement – so long as you are 18 years old, you can join CPF.
Family/individual memberships cost:
$25/year per household, or $60 for a three-year membership (best deal!)

AMOs get access to the latest research-based information that they need in their professional lives, and can gain exclusive access to CPF programs like our famous Concours d’art oratoire.

Supporting French Language programs in BC and Yukon since 1978!
Canadian Parents for French British Columbia is a non-profit organization that has worked since 1978 to provide French Second Language learning opportunities for youth, support for parents, and advocacy for quality French programs in our schools. We work with the Ministry of Education, educational partners, stakeholders and the public ensuring support for FSL education and providing support and resources to parents and students. We also create, facilitate, organize and promote French language learning and cultural activities for youth in their regions.
Our Vancouver office is located in La Maison de la francophonie, a dynamic hub of British-Columbian francophone organizations such as La Fédération francophone de la Colombie-Britannique, Le Centre culturel francophone de Vancouver and Théâtre la Seizième.

40 Years of Advocacy and Counting!
Canadian Parents for French was founded in 1977 by parents who wanted to ensure that children would have the opportunity to become bilingual in the Canadian school system. Originally a small group of concerned parents who met in Ottawa, CPF has evolved into a proactive national network with 10 Branch offices and some 150 Chapters in communities nationwide.
Based in Ottawa, CPF National engages with national stakeholders and works with the federal government and national organizations involved in official languages and bilingualism to create an environment supportive of French-second-language (FSL) education across Canada.
