Communications Coordinator – Summer Student Job Posting

 Canadian Parents for French BC & YK is a grassroots volunteer-based organization dedicated to promoting and supporting French second language educational opportunities for all young students.

The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for building our communication capacity and developing communication assets.

Deliverables will include tasks such as:

  • Producing our Fall Newsletter.
  • Building a database of elected officials, teachers, and other stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and updating content on our CPF BC & YK website.
  • Preparing Media Releases, i.e. the ‘Back To School’ release.
  • Preparing for our Fall Membership Drive by contacting sponsors.

The role is full-time (30 hrs per week) and remuneration is $17.50/hr.  The contract runs June 1 – July 31st. Work schedule can be flexible, upon consultation with the Employer.

The Communications Coordinator will report directly to the CPF BC & YK Executive Director.

Skills & Experience

  • Communication and Social Media education or training is an asset.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset, but not a requirement.
  • Experience working with spreadsheets (i.e. Excel) is a requirement.
  • Experience working with WordPress is a strong asset.
  • Excellent English written skills.

Eligibility

You must be a student, over the age of 18, and attending a Canadian post-secondary institution. The role will be located here in our Vancouver office.

Research Specialist – Summer Student Job Posting

Canadian Parents for French BC & YK is a grassroots volunteer-based organization dedicated to promoting and supporting French second language educational opportunities for all young students.

The Research Specialist will be responsible for building our research and archive capacity.

Deliverables will include tasks such as:

  • Downloading student enrolment statistics from the Ministry of Education.
  • Analyzing, calculating, and reporting student enrolment statistics and trends.
  • Reviewing and moving items in the CPF BC & YK archives from on-site to off-site. Requires careful review of documents and folders.
  • Other research and analysis public policy tasks as may arise.
