CPF BC & Yukon asks Province for plan to deal with remote learning for language programs
In an Aug. 21 statement, Canadian Parents for French BC & Yukon Executive Director Glyn Lewis asked Education decision makers to look at how remote learning would impact language learners. Provincial resources are thin for online French learners, while demand is growing. In August, CPF BC & Yukon received dozens of questions from parents about at-home learning accommodations for their students.
Branch AGM & Conference | Sept. 2020
CPF BC & Yukon is going online for this year’s Branch AGM & Conference, due to gathering and travel considerations around COVID-19. Instead of being a weekend-long event of workshops, meetings and networking events, the Branch will instead host a virtual mini conference on Friday, Sept. 18 and an AGM on Sept. 19.
Attendees must register with the Branch. All registrants will receive an email with the Zoom links 48 hours before the events.
Concours virtuel | Ensemble à distance
Our traditional Concours d’art oratoire was been cancelled for 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. To replace it, we teamed up with partners across Canada to launch a video contest where students shared (en français, bien sûr) how they’re dealing with social distancing.
More than 950 students from across Canada shared how they were keeping up their French and keeping busy while home from school!
