A French Start is a new site created by parents who want to help their toddler learn French. The site hosts recordings, songs and activities for young children!

“When I had my daughter two years ago, I knew I wanted her to be fluent in French since I grew up speaking it,” the founder of A French Start told CPF BC & Yukon. “However, I found that the resources that are available to us in English were not available in French (Bright Starts, story times at the library, art classes, etc.”

So rather than dwell, the family set out to create their own resources so that their toddler – now 2 – could learn the language!

From the site: “If you’re interested in raising a French-speaking child, this blog is an invitation for you to learn or re-learn the language with your little one. Whether you are fluent in French, understand a bit but are unsure of your skills, or don’t speak it at all, there are many ways to introduce the language in your everyday lives while keeping things fun and exciting!”
